The Curaçao Gaming Control Board (GCB) has made a significant move in its leadership by appointing Mr. Cedric Pietersz as the new Managing Director (MD). Set to assume his role on February 1, this decision marks a new chapter for the GCB, as announced by its Supervisory Board.
In his new role, Pietersz is tasked with overseeing the GCB’s licensing activities in line with current legislation and guiding the board through the transformative changes following the enactment of the new laws and regulations. Pietersz’s appointment comes at a time when Curaçao is undergoing substantial jurisdictional shifts in its gambling sector.
With a rich background spanning 20 years at the Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten (CBCS), Pietersz’s journey through various roles, including supervisory and management positions, has equipped him with invaluable experience and insights. His expertise in these areas is anticipated to play a crucial role in enhancing the GCB’s operational efficiency, strengthening anti-money laundering (AML) practices, and ensuring strict regulatory compliance.
“I am honoured to join the Gaming Control Board during this dynamic period. My focus, alongside the team and the Supervisory Board, will be on strategically navigating the GCB into a new era, ensuring we deliver substantial value to all stakeholders, including the Minister of Finance.”
